Proud to be in NC is what Shugar's Philly Deli has written above their kitchen window. It is clear from both of our visits to eat here that they truly are. Needless to say I was so excited when I heard that they were relocating to New Cumberland back in September. On our first visit we noticed the updates to the building right away and of course all of the Philadelphia sports memorabilia. The menu written in colorful chalk really grabs your attention when you first enter the building.
Staff was friendly and attentive as we walked in and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Our food came out promptly and we were immediately transported back to our last trip to South Street in Philadelphia right here in New Cumberland.
After our first visit I knew that I had to bring my father and brother in as they are both avid Philadelphia sports fans and my father lived in Philadelphia for a while during college. We took him here a few weeks ago for his birthday and right away he was walking around checking out all of the memorabilia and shared different things about Philadelphia sports history. Again we had friendly and prompt service and it seemed as if the cheesesteak was even better from our first visit. My family also appreciated the fact that staff asked how everything was as we were leaving. Shugar's proves that they truly are proud of their restaurant and proud to be in New Cumberland!!!
My name is Christy and I moved to the West Shore ten years ago and into New Cumberland in September 2012. I really enjoy living here and getting to know the community better every day. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dog.
